Title: Computer Organization and Design Second Edition : The Hardware/Software Interface Publisher: Morgan Kaufmann Authors: David A. Patterson, John L. Hennessy Rating: 5/5 This book was not an easy read for me, but if enough time is spent this book is written well enough for an assembly/hardware beginner to grasp it. I had no assembly experience and very little hardware design experience comming into this class, and using this book I was able to do very well in the class, and most importantly understand these concepts. Many people struggled(this is a CS class not EE), but most of these people simply did not put the time into reading the 100+ page chapters. Simply put the book does what its supposed to do very well if you put in the time.

Title: Official Final Fantasy VII Strategy Guide Publisher: Bradygames Authors: David Cassady Rating: 3/5  I played FFVII three times. The latest time I installed a Voodoo3 card and the game runs fantastic in full screen. Everytime I play I refer to the Guide more or less. I bought another book too. It turned out only like two pages on that book contains valuable information comparing with the Official Guide. Don't exactly follow the book while playing the game though. And there are some minor mistakes that you'll know when you become a veteran, such as you can get to the Acient forest to get the valuable Apocalypse as soon as you breed a Black Chocobo. You don't have to wait to defeat the Ultimate Weapon. Lots of useful tricks are coverd in the book too. About breeding Chocobo, you may need to find more info on the web.

Title: Ableton Live 4 Power! (Power!) Publisher: Muska & Lipman/Premier-Trade Authors: Chad Carrier, David Hill Rating: 5/5 Although I had gotten my feet wet using Ableton Live 4, I didn't realize what I was missing until I read this book. I am now much faster and can do a lot of really cool stuff that I didn't even realize was possible with Live before reading this book. It's also much easier to read than other technical manuals I've read, written in an engaging, conversational style that is easy to understand while imparting some pretty deep knowledge. Actually inspired me to dig into Live and try what I was learning. I highly recommend this one!!
