Title: Oracle PL/SQL Programming, Third Edition
Publisher: O'Reilly
Authors: Steven Feuerstein
Rating: 5/5
Customer opinion - 5 stars out of 5
Surprisingly easy to read

This is one of the best written and easiest to read of any technical book I've ever read. We've often provided this book to students in the Oracle classes that we teach. Furthermore, when I was on an Oracle consulting project a couple of years ago, working alongside consultants from Oracle Corporation, I noticed that the Oracle Corp consultants weren't using the Oracle Corp documentation on PL/SQL for reference - they all had this book.
Steve Feuerstein presents a tremendous overview and in-depth analysis of the PL/SQL language with practical examples. He includes several design recommendations and practical real world examples and recommendations that make this a solid book for PL/SQL professionals who are serious about writing production code.

Title: Testing Applications on the Web: Test Planning for Internet-Based Systems
Publisher: Wiley
Authors: Hung Q. Nguyen
Rating: 5/5
Customer opinion - 5 stars out of 5
Complete and Comprehensive

This book covers both Web Applications Testing and Software Testing. Although this is not a step by step book to web application, its thoroughness in coverage of the topic of web appplication testing gives me just what I need.
This book clearly explains through all the terms, methodologies of software and web application testing, to creating test plans, and formulating your test strategies. Nguyen has also done a great job of illustrating front end testing (UI) until backend end testing (DB and Networks). I personnaly like the part of the web testing considerations and tips towards the end of each test activities, as it really saves me a lot of time. It has also a section on all available tools on the net.
The only drawback is that the book has not given much examples of real world web testing cases. Nevertheless, if you are involved in web application testing in any sense, this book should be your indispensable companion on your bookshelf.

Title: Secrets and Lies : Digital Security in a Networked World
Publisher: Wiley
Authors: Bruce Schneier
Rating: 5/5
Customer opinion - 5 stars out of 5
Highly Recommended.

This is not a "how-to" book, it's an idea book. Good width and depth of security concepts, encryption, etc. It can be used to gain ideas on what things you need to consider when thinking about digital security, etc. A really good read, it kept my interest, and had me marking many pages to review later.
