Excellent to prepare your interview

This book is indeed helpful when I prepare for my interviews. In fact, I found some hiring managers use this book to test the interviewers. :) I highly recommend this book to people who are interviewing with software programming jobs.

Very good theory based book

I've been learning COM for a while starting out with VB, and then realizing the real COM developement is done with C++. I have learned all the ways to implement COM object but somehow didn't realize some of the reasoning behind it. This book will tie it all together, and use code to show you the hows and whys behind the theory. It is a great book for a intermediate level COM developer.

Title: MySQL (3rd Edition) (Developer's Library)
Publisher: Sams
Authors: Paul DuBois
Rating: 5/5
Customer opinion - 5 stars out of 5
Excellent, well written book

Few computer books are a pleasure to read. This one is. DuBois has written an accessable, clear introduction to mysql, the high performance rdbms.
My only two problems with it are that he doesn't cover python programming (C, PHP and Perl) and there is little coverage of InnoDB (transactions). MySQL is changing so quickly that this book will soon need an update.
