Hard to Penetrate

I have read a lot of glowing reviews about this book but I have found that, while it is good, I think it is too dense to be great. It is a very difficult read. The writing style is very heavy. I would love a one-pager of the ideas in this book. My sense is that it would read "Watch Users." There are better books on the subject. I like "The Inmates are Running the Asylum."

It has new Prestige Classes that are quite unique, and a new set of Force Skills and Feats for Dark Side NPC's and Players. It is also very good at presenting the History of the Sith and its main characters. It has several creatures and species that are very useful to stress your players!!! Amazing book

I had just started learning perl and I knew I needed to learn how to use regular expressions. I breezed through learning perl and this book was next.
I knew very little about regular expressions before reading this book and now I feel like I've mostly mastered them. I've read through it once and there is a lot of material that it covers so it was difficult to comprehend all of it the first time through but I feel I've understood the majority of regular expressions. I think the only part I would need to read through more is the optimization of regular expressions.

Excellent book on estimation/Kalman filter

I don't usually write online reviews but this book is so clear and useful that I really want to recommend it to others. It is well written with a good outline and summary for every chapter. It also has a pretty diverse range of topics on estimation, including an introductory chapter on basic estimation approaches (e.g., ML, MAP, least squares), and very practical extensions (e.g., state augmentation, square-root filters). Even though I am not in EE and some of the examples are thus not particularly helpful to me, I still find this book one of the best of all the estimation/Kalman filter books out there.
